Staff Appreciation Week
We can’t thank the fabulous PTA and families enough for the wonderful week of surprises. The food alone was endless and amazing. The kind words written by students are keepsakes. The families and students of Kaler rock!
Math – Twos, Fives, and Tens
The students will be learning how to identify missing numbers on a 100 chart using patterns in the number sequence.
The students will be counting and combining things that come in groups of twos, fives and tens. They will be solving addition and subtraction story problem. For example: Dogs have four legs. How many legs are there in a group of 6 dogs? How many legs are in a group of 9 dogs? Have fun creating similar story problems at home – count how many legs, eyes, fingers, etc.
Summer Reading List
It’s not too early to get started on Scholastic’s summer reading list (http://www.scholastic.com/teachers/sites/default/files/asset/file/src2015_booklist_6-7.pdf). So many different choices to choose from, how many of these books can your family read over the summer? Better start tackling it now!
Plants – How does your garden grow?
The students have been learning about plants. Questions to ask your child – What do plants need to grow? What kind of plants are you growing in your classroom? What are the parts of a plant?
Art Show
Hopefully you will get a chance to see your child's artwork at the Art Show next week! Check out the flier below for more details.
